Is it Possible to Play Online Bingo for Free and Win Money? - Case Study

So, the question is, is it possible to play online bingo for free and win money? Well, we will soon find out! Most online bingo sites give you the option to be able to play free bingo, but with the small amount you can win and the amount of people in the room, is it even worth trying? Read Tips for Making You Win More Money on Bingo for information about how the amount of people in a room affects your chances of winning.

The aim of this case study is to play 10 free bingo games and record the results to see if it is actually possible to play free bingo and win real money.

The Prediction

We are going to say that we will be very lucky if we win any free games at all. The reason for this is the amount of people who are also thinking “oh, free bingo” is way too high. Although we are only going to play 10 games, the results should be quite clear.

The Experiment

For the experiment we are going to be playing 10 games of bingo on the bingo site Posh Bingo. The simple reason because the site is popular so we know it offers free bingo and for the simple reason that we have an account with them.

90 ball bingo is going to be the game of choice which gives you a total of 3 chances to win each game. 6 tickets are the maximum tickets you can buy for free and is what we are going to purchase.

The mean average number of players (where you add up all the number of players per game and then divide by the number of games) is 197. The maximum number of tickets you could buy per game was 6 which would have gave everyone an equal chance of winning. If you divide 197 by 3 (the number of chances to win per game, 1 line, 2, lines, full house) you get 66. That means we had 1/66 chances of winning each game. That means if we played 66 games, odds say we should have won one game. It took us around 1hour to play 10 (an average of 6 minutes per game). That means it would theoretically take you on average 6hours and 30 minutes to win 25p.

The Conclusion

We played 10 free games of bingo on Posh Bingo and we only managed to get one single 1TG. Unless you manage to play in the free rooms when very few people are playing as possible then your odds of winning are very slim, or if you played game after game then you would eventually win. Even if you do win however, 25p for an average win is not going to go far. This would only then buy you five 5p tickets which would probably bring your account balance back down to 0p which would start the vicious cycle all over again. To be honest, we would rather just deposit £10 and have way better odds of winning.
