Bingo Chat Shortcuts

You have just logged on to a bingo site for the first time and you have noticed the integrated chat room (usually to the right-hand side). All you see is loads of 3 letter words such as: “1TG” “2TG" and “GLE”, you are then left confused thinking what does it all mean. Fear not, these are known as “bingo slang” or chat room shortcuts and are simply abbreviated words. Just like the abbreviated term LOL means laugh out loud, and if you have even received a text message then you will probably know what we are talking about.

If you are new to bingo and especially if you are new to using any form of online chat, it can be beneficial to learn some of the following shortcuts or "bingo slang". As soon as you enter a chat room on a bingo site you will usually see most of the following pop-up. If you are unaware of what people are trying to saying using the following shortcuts then you will get confused and you will be unsure how to reply to people. If you have used a form of chat before - such as MSN or Facebook - then you may be familiar with a few of the below.

The reason for these shortcuts is to allow people to talk faster in the chat rooms. Why would you want to write better luck next time to someone when you could simply put BLNT and get the same message across? As you can see, using "bingo slang" can be a real time saver and with the chat rooms constantly flowing with new message, you have not always got time to write long replies.

Using the chat function really allows you to get more involved in the game and helps you interact with other bingo players. Some players believe the chat is the best part of playing bingo online as it gives them the ability of being social as they come to expect with bingo.
