30 Ball Bingo – Speed Bingo

30 ball bingo is a version of bingo that is not that popular at all; in fact, you may have never heard of it. Usually your local bingo club will not offer this version of bingo and the only way to play it is online and even then only a select few online bingo sites offer this version. The name of the version of bingo that you play will tell you how many balls are used in the game and as you can tell with the name 30 ball bingo…yes, you guessed it, 30 balls are used in play.

Because only 30 balls are used in the game, the games are much quicker than a typical 75 ball and 90 ball game and for this reason you may hear people refer to 30 ball bingo as speed bingo. The great advantage to this is more games can be played in an allotted time compared to 75 and 90 ball which ultimately means more chances to win.

The Bingo Tickets

30 ball bingo ticket

A 30 ball bingo tickets is made up of a 3x3 grid (9 squares). The ticket is basically a shrunken version of a 75 ball bingo ticket. The only pattern that is played is the full house pattern which is the same as 75 ball bingo in which you have to cover all the numbers on your ticket. It probably won’t be long until new patterns are introduced as theoretically most 75 bingo patterns could be used, but this will make the games even shorter than they are.

How is the Game Played?

If you have read our 90 ball basics and 75 ball basics you will see a pattern emerging. A machine picks numbers between 1 – 30 at random, a bingo caller calls out these numbers and players then mark their tickets if they have the called numbers. The aim of the game is to cover all your bingo ticket. If you succeed before everyone else you yell “BINGO” and you’ve won! Congratulations!
